Due to our full services structure, a duo Boeing fleet B787-8 and B737max are the most suitable for the Suarga Air to maintain flexibility and provide the short and long-haul flight as well as the ultra long-haul flight. In addition, by purchasing a larger quantity aircraft from the same manufacturer, a discount may be provided.
To identify which type of aircraft Suarga Air should operate, our team conducted a thorough research based on six types of aircraft; two for short range and four for long range, which were determined as the most suitable and economical to our network.
The first two types of aircrafts chosen were the A320Neo and B737 MAX 8, as they are considered on par with each other between the two aircraft manufacturers, with an all economy and business seating. The B737 MAX 8 is more ideal for Suarga Air as the extra 13 seats on the would be beneficial to us.
As listed in the above table, the B737 MAX 8 provides a higher seating capacity, thus, a lower CASK. This B737 MAX 8 also boasts a reduction in engine noise and NOx emissions. Furthermore, the majority of airports that we will be utilising on B737 MAX 8 flights impose night flying restrictions and only allow aircrafts with certain ratings to operate into in which the B737 MAX 8 advantageously complies to. Ultimately this will ensure that Suarga Air is not limited by such restrictions for night operations and can invest capital into regeneration schemes to support the longevity of the aircraft utilisation.
Furthermore, the B737 MAX 8 provides a more efficient fuel burn for the operations, burning 0.28kg/km less than the A320 Neo. Thus, leading to a large reduction in fuel costs for Suarga Air. However, acknowledging a price perspective, the A320Neo is a slightly more less, while B737 MAX 8 can carry more cargo to compensate the cost.
There are four long range aircraft are considered to use for the ultra long haul flight with an all economy and business seating setting. Within the B787 Dreamliner family, B787-8 is the most suitable one as its passengers capacity is matching with our marketing strategy. As listed in the above table, B787-8 has largest flight range and it is able for Suarga Air operate flights from Jakarta to the Europe. Also, B787-8 has better performance on the fuel economy aspect and its price is the lowest compared to the other three type of the aircraft.
For Suarga Air, the B737 Max 8 and B787-8 are cheaper to operate. Thus, the twenty aircrafts chosen to be B737 Max 8 for the Asia and Oceania regions. And the remaining ten aircrafts have been assigned to be B787-8 serve the Europe region.
